Description
On a black disc, a light blue demi-globe issuing from base, bordered and gridlined white, overall a bald eagles head Proper, colors rising from two diagonally crossed green laurel branches and enclosed above by a tripartite medium blue scroll doubled and inscribed TEMPESTIVUM VERUM DEFINITUM (Timely, Accurate, Precise) in white, superimposed in base by three crossed gold arrows all beneath an arc of thirteen white stars and all enclosed by a white band edged red inscribed NATIONAL IMAGERY AND MAPPING AGENCY in dark blue letters.

Symbolism
The eagle and thirteen stars exemplify the principles of freedom upon which our country was founded and underscore the national security mission of the National Imagery and Mapping Agency. Laurel symbolizes honor and high achievement; the three crossed arrows represent the Armed Services and denote the organizations mission and role in total military preparedness and defense. Black denotes outer space. Red, white and blue are our national colors. The demi-globe represents the mapping functions of the Agency and its world-wide scope.
